He took over with the intention of building EPYD into an organization by and for young El Pasoans.
Richard also serves as a precinct chair for the El Paso Democratic party.
When not organizing, Richard works full-time hours across two jobs. In his spare time he enjoys watching movies and TV shows, gaming, and spending time with Dobby the dachshund.

The department secretaries

Departments in EPYD represent all areas of work we focus on, as an organization.
Whether it's planning for fundraisers, participating in outreach events, or holding elected officials accountable— all jobs are necessary to keep the org functioning effectively.
We encourage members to get involved with any department that suits their skills, passions, or interests.
Each Department is led by a Department Secretary whose role is to manage the department's assignments, track member's participation, and report progress to the Executive board.
At the end of the year, Secretaries recognize members for their contributions and efforts in their respective Departments.

Accountability
This department serves as EPYD’s watchdog force. It keeps track of voting records and actions of prospective or elected officials. This informs whether we support/endorse a particular candidate or not.
The secretary keeps track of elected officials' votes, compiles reports, and builds profiles on all of our elected officials.
